The author has lived in the Northwest all of her life. She currently resides with her partner of eight years on the Oregon coast, where she makes her two cats and two dogs blush when she reads portions of her manuscript to them. After working with urban Indian centers and tribal services for 16 years, she did a four-year stint as a tribal police officer. In addition to working on a sequel to Away Games, she is completing Indian Misdemeanors, a novel that explores the tension between spirituality and politics in the Native American community.
